The meeting will start at 10.30 on Sat 10 Dec 2005 at 1 Fitzroy Lane, Cambridge. To get there, go to the western entrance to the Grafton Centre (at the junction of Fitzroy St and Burleigh St), and, if facing the entrance, turn left. At the corner you will see a set of buzzers for flats 1-9. Press the one for flat 1 and await a reply from the Secretary.
The formal business of the AGM will be followed by a general discussion of transport matters, which may include the following:
Planning issues: Cambridge Local Plan, new housing in surrounding area
Bus changes: Western corridor services (X5, 14, 18/A)
Rail issues: New timetable due to start 11 Dec
Guided busway inquiry: Discussion of Inspector's Report and Government decision, if they have been published by then
Bedford corridor: Last year this led to a motion which we have submitted to this year's national Transport 2000 AGM
Transport Discrimination: This was on the agenda to be discussed at last year's national Transport 2000 AGM, but it fell off the bottom due to lack of time. We have been promised more time to discuss this issue this year, and we may wish to discuss the outcome of this at our branch AGM.
We would expect to publish our activities and financial reports in the next newsletter. Nominations for the Committee and other representatives, other than existing holders of the posts, should be sent to the Coordinator to arrive before the date of the meeting, or may be presented at the meeting.
At 2.00 on 10 Dec Railfuture's East Anglia branch will be holding a meeting in Cambridge (at Little St Mary's Church Hall off Trumpington Street). We will therefore adjourn some of the above discussions until the following week (17 Dec), starting at the same place and time. This will also provide a chance for those who can't make the 10th to attend.
